A Curaçao merchant can accept online cards by obtaining a compatible Powertranz/FAC eCommerce profile through a connected institution and configuring it in Genius Checkout. Powertranz currently lists RBC Royal Bank and Maduro & Curiel's Bank (MCB) for Curaçao.

Genius Checkout keeps each approved gateway as a distinct route. The merchant activates only the services and environments provisioned for its own account.

The country changed from the Netherlands Antillean guilder to the Caribbean guilder in 2025. That makes current currency confirmation especially important: do not carry an old ANG configuration into a new checkout without the bank and gateway confirming what the merchant profile now accepts.

#Verify the institution, gateway, and current currency together

Ask RBC or MCB to confirm all three in one written response:

1. The merchant profile is issued on Powertranz/FAC.
2. The mode is Direct, HPP, or both.
3. The exact ISO transaction currencies enabled now, including whether XCG is available for the profile.
4. The settlement currencies and accounts.
5. Test and live credentials.
6. 3-D Secure, refunds, authorization/capture, and tokenization rights.

Do not “translate” an old credential pack yourself. A currency change can affect gateway configuration, site labels, accounting exports, receipts, and reconciliation.

Confirm the processor as well as the institution. A bank relationship by itself does not prove that the specific credential set is a Powertranz credential set.

#Plan checkout for local and visitor-facing sales

Curaçao businesses may price rooms, diving, tours, rentals, services, and retail goods for both residents and international visitors. The site should distinguish:

• Sales teams and service businesses can use HighLevel.
• An established content site can add an Ecwid storefront.
• Confirmed reservations and invoices can use payment links or QR codes.
• Existing local software can use a supported custom API integration.

Genius Checkout returns the verified payment state to that source system. The source should keep its booking or order reference, while every attempt gets a unique gateway-facing ID.

#Test old and new assumptions

Review stored website settings, accounting mappings, receipt templates, and test fixtures for ANG. Do not silently relabel an amount if the gateway or accounting system still treats the code differently.

Then test approval, decline, 3-D Secure, cancellation, Back navigation, duplicate callback, retry, refund, and any planned later payment. Confirm what appears in the bank's settlement report.
